Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx Disks AvailableScott Gwin tells me the AZloco ( http://www.azloco.com/ ) has received their shipment of Ubuntu 10.04 disks from Canonical. People may pick up a copy at the Installfest or the East Side meetings and Stammtische. Ubuntu and Kubuntu Desktop as well as Server disks are available. In fact, we can make disks for other derivatives as well but we do not have have professionally pressed disks for them. Scott is also willing to ship to individuals on request although he should be repaid for the shipping. Please contact Scott directly at j.scott.gwin@ubuntu.com as shown on the AZloco web site. PLUG Developers meeting - An Introduction to The Semantic Web - part 1 of 22010 May 6 - 19:00 2010 May 6 - 21:00 Etc/GMT-7 Thursday's presentation is the first part of an Introduction to The Semantic Web based on the Allemang & Hendler book: Semantic Web for the Working Ontologist, effective modeling in RDFS and OWL. This book is one of the best introductions to semantics, ontologies and the semantic web and in this presentation, part one of two, you will become familiar with this field's terminology as well as its basic technology. The focus is on understanding the tools, the resources, and the way of thinking that makes the semantic web the next important step for the Internet[1]. In part two, we will take these foundations and focus on implementation, how to add elements of the semantic web to your current Internet assets.
